The Internet Film Club is an online, worldwide film club originally founded by the users of IMDb.com but it has since then been active primary on the mailing list. We watch films by a chosen director or genre and discuss them with other movie-buffs around the world. How does The Internet Film Club work? Usually we pick a filmmaker or a genre (narrowed down by a specific time period) with a list of films that we focus on for a month: We watch them by ourselves and then talk about them (on our mailing list or on the IMDb Message Board. Members also often discuss other topics, not related to the director/genre of the month. Who are the members of The Internet Film Club? The growing member list includes all kind of film-enthusiasts ranging from journalists and experts to the ordinary movie-goer. Everyone who wants to deepen his/her film knowledge or talk about films is welcome. What is the mailing list? It is a post list on Google Groups where most of the discussions take place. There we decide the topic of each month and discuss the films we are watching (plus other film related topics people are interested in). What is your posting-/SPAM-policy on the mailing list? The mailing list is for discussion of films and film related topics. Members should try to limed their topics as much as possible to that.

The newsletters are available on the GoogleGroups-site (http://groups.google.com/group/film-club/web) - we try to write one for each month in which we sum up the latest news and updates. What is a host - what does the host do? The host is a member who nominates three directors/genres for the rest of the members to choose from. Our votes are democratic.
