Welcome to the Internet Film Club

The Internet Film Club is a group made by IMDb users, who wants to have more discussions on the important filmmakers' message boards. We organize and make announcements through our mailinglist, but this page will be up-to-date with latest information and our newsletters.

Many of you may be a member of a film club, where you watch films together, either at someones home or at a (art) film house. Well this is a net version of that. We don't come together but we watch the same films for a month and discuss them. The initial idea was that we would discuss them at the IMDb boards but as by now members have started to use this post-list for discussions as well: Discussions is what this group is about.

The group works with a democratic host-system which gives everyone a chance to be a host - that includes a host nominates 3 directors for a chosen month for the rest of the members to choose from. We did however not assign a month to each member because some members might not care to participate. So instead each member can apply to be a host, for example by e-mailing the "cabinet". Once on the list, the member will stay on the list until he/she asks to be removed of it. So if you are not on the host list, and would like to be, then please let us know.

If an important director dies then we honor him with a special month and postpone the host list for one month.

To subscribe/unsubscribe simply send an e-mail to, respectively:

film-club-subscribe@googlegroups.com
film-club-unsubscribe@googlegroups.com

Enjoy!
